Franklin Method®

The Franklin Method® founded by Eric Franklin in 1994 uses Dynamic Neuro-cognitive Imagery™, anatomical embodiment and educational skills to create lasting positive change in your body and mind.

The Franklin Method® is a movement education approach that combines dynamic imagery, anatomical  understanding, and conscious movement to improve body awareness, alignment, and function. While  there is limited research specifically on the benefits of the Franklin Method for menopausal women, it  can be beneficial in several ways:

1. Posture and alignment:

Menopause can bring changes in posture and alignment due to hormonal fluctuations and changes in bone density. The Franklin Method® emphasizes proper alignment and body awareness through imagery and movement exercises. By practicing the Franklin Method®, menopausal women can improve their posture, maintain proper alignment, and reduce the  risk of musculoskeletal imbalances or injuries.

2. Movement efficiency:

Menopause can sometimes lead to a decrease in muscle strength and flexibility. The Franklin Method® focuses on efficient movement patterns and teaches how to engage  the right muscles for optimal movement. By practicing the Franklin Method®, women can enhance  their movement efficiency, increase muscle strength and flexibility, and support overall physical well being.

3. Body awareness and self-care:

Menopause is a time of transition, and women may experience  changes in their bodies. The Franklin Method® emphasizes body awareness and encourages women to  listen to their bodies, understand their individual needs, and practice self-care. Through imagery and  movement exercises, women can develop a deeper connection with their bodies, cultivate self compassion, and take a proactive approach to their physical and emotional well-being.

4. Stress reduction:

Menopause can be a stressful time, and stress can exacerbate menopausal  symptoms. TheFranklin Method® incorporates relaxation techniques and imagery that promote relaxation and reduce stress levels. By practicing the Franklin Method®, menopausal women can learn to release tension, manage stress, and promote a sense of calm and well-being.

5. Pelvic floor health:

Menopause can lead to changes in pelvic floor muscles, which can result in urinary incontinence or pelvic organ prolapse. The Franklin Method® includes exercises and imagery that target the pelvic floor muscles, promoting their strength, coordination, and overall health. By incorporating the Franklin Method® into their routine, menopausal women can support their pelvic floor health and reduce the risk of related issues.

It is important to note that the Franklin Method® is a movement education approach and should not  be considered a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Menopausal women should consult with their healthcare provider before starting any new exercise program, including the Franklin Method®, to ensure it is safe and appropriate for their individual needs.

In summary, the Franklin Method® can be beneficial for menopausal women by improving posture and alignment, enhancing movement efficiency, promoting body awareness and self-care, reducing stress, and supporting pelvic floor health. By incorporating the Franklin Method into their routine, women can support their overall physical and emotional well-being during the menopausal transition.
